At the beginning of another week, ask yourself "where do I want to be by Friday?" What do I want to have achieved? "Where do I want to be in a months time?" or for that matter, "where do I want to be a year from now?".
The truth is this, you need to start sowing seeds each and every day so that you will be able to reap the rewards in the days, weeks, months and years to come. Brining consciousness to every action that you take will help you to understand how these will help you to realise some kind of ambition, goal or want in the future. If you enjoy gardening you will already understand this concept. You will know that a beautiful and varied garden takes meticulous planning and care. When you start to sow seeds and plant out, you already have an image in your mind of how your garden will look when the flowers blossom and the plants grow. Even though there will be weeks before there is any sign of activity, eventually you will see an amazing transformation.
Become a gardener of your own life. Sowing seeds in every area is important. Professionally, it will be important for you to network and to meet with other people who may be able to add value to your business or perhaps you will also be able to add value to theirs too. It might take anywhere between and month and 18 months for that conversation or meeting to manifest into something useful. Timing cannot always be predicted. The importance is to keep sowing and to make sure that you are constantly taking action in every area of your life.
Decide which areas of your life need attention the most. What can you do right now that will make a difference when you get to the end of the week? For example, if you have to compile a weekly report of your working activity, could you keep a daily journal of significant events and activities that can then be rolled up into a cumulative report at the end of the week? Who do you need to call today in order that they will be able to meet with you next week or the week after? Who needs to know about something that you do, who doesn't yet know?
Make a list of the daily seeds that you will sow each and every day this week. Decide if they will be on-going items that will need to be planted week after week or are they 'one-offs' with specific purpose? At the end of this week, reflect back and see how the actions you took today have had a positive bearing on the result that you st rived for. Clear a little space and enjoy the fruits of some great new success habits.
