Have you noticed how many times a day you replay certain memories? If the answer is no, you need to sharpen your awareness. So many people that I see are suffering immensely because they keep replaying memories that are painful. Often the root event that they are remembering was painful enough, so why do people keep replaying things over and over that make them feel bad? Well it is quite simple, it is called conditioning. We live in a world where things are repeated over and over on Television, on the Radio in Newspapers, magazines and books and now in emails and on websites. Have you ever noticed how certain news stories that were big at some point disappear, and then they re-appear again. Anniversaries of things like 9/11 and of the 2nd World War. All of these things broadcast and re-ignite memories of fear and anxiety.
The teachings of Ho'oponopono are that illness and imperfections and suffering and great deal of other 'states' are simply memories replaying. They do not really exist. They were always somebody else's idea in the first instance. The only way that you can believe that somebody has a particular illness or problem is by accessing your memory or representation of that. Without that recall or knowledge, the condition or state cannot exist. Develop a state of permanent amnesia for the things that are no longer useful to you. It is a life long commitment to clean up all of those old memories that keep replaying. Think about how many you have accumulated over the years. Every time you find one coming up, all you need to do is remember that you were once a perfect white sheet of pure potentiality free of any fear of pre-conceived ideas.
When you cease looking to the outside world for answers and instead look in-wards to your neglected child, you will start to find peace and wisdom beyond your wildest imagination. If you have to rely on external people or things for your peace of mind you are in for a tough ride. Know as you clean on all of your past memories of troublesome things you can get back to a place of pure inspiration and wonderment. When you choose to replay memories, make sure they are the good ones that inspire you, fill your soul with joy and bring a big smile to your face.
